Before matching begins, you’ll complete the program’s required background check*. This is one part of Home Match’s screening process for program participants.
*If eligibility requirements aren’t met during the background check, the application will be closed.
Once the required screening is complete and your application is approved, your provider profile becomes active. Our team can then begin looking for Home Seekers whose needs, preferences, and lifestyle may complement yours.
When our team identifies someone who could be compatible with you and your household, we’ll share the opportunity with both parties. If the interest is mutual, we’ll help coordinate the introduction so you can decide whether you’d like to continue exploring the match.
Before a match moves forward, references are shared and reviewed. This gives both the Home Provider and Home Seeker additional information as they decide whether the living arrangement feels like the right fit.
When you’ve found someone you’d like to share your home with, both parties meet with the Home Match team to talk through expectations and complete a customized Living Together Agreement (LTA).
This is where you’ll establish important details about the household, including routines, shared spaces, guest expectations, and any agreed-upon task exchange.
Once both parties agree on the arrangement and the details are in place, it’s time to move forward with the shared home.
