Sharing Our Gifts, Accomplishing Your Dreams

It is an honor to serve as Chair of the Front Porch Communities Foundation Board of Directors, as we bring together five foundations into a single Front Porch Communities Foundation to serve our residents, communities, and programs. I have been fortunate to be part of the Front Porch family for 25 years. My parents lived at Sunny View in Cupertino, and I was proud to serve on the Sunny View Foundation Board.

Over the years, as Board Chair of the Sunny View Foundation, I became acquainted with residents and colleagues throughout the organization. To this day, I am inspired by the community connections that are at the heart of the Front Porch mission and are fostered by residents, their family members, staff, and friends.

Although we have completed the consolidation of our five separate foundations into the Front Porch Communities Foundation, we want to assure supporters that we will always maintain funds for each of our communities and programs. In that way, supporters can be confident that their previous gifts will always be used as they intended and, moving forward, donors can support the community or program that they choose. With a consolidated Foundation, we are able to be more efficient and focus our  energies on what is important: helping donors support life-changing services in the Front Porch communities and programs they care about. The first Front Porch community opened its doors 114 years ago and, ever since, residents, their families, and friends, have planted the seeds through  charitable gifts to nurture the communities and services into the future. We have all benefitted from this ongoing commitment to building community and supporting vibrant quality of life, and I am proud to be a part of carrying that tradition forward.

Our hope with the Community Matters newsletter is to share with you some of the ways that people throughout our organization support that tradition through the Foundation. We invite you to share with us your hopes and aspirations for the Front Porch communities and programs, and look forward to working together to accomplish your dreams.

My best to you,

Lynn North
