Front Porch and Villa Gardens‘ partnership in creating the film Familiar Touch featured in LeadingAge’s article ‘Lights, Camera, Aging’: How Life Plan Community Residents Became Filmmakers. The film will be shown at the 2025 LeadingAge Annual Meeting in Boston, MA, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and cast on Sunday, November 2, from 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. ET.

CEO Sean Kelly also moderated a panel called Portraits of Aging that Start to Get it Right after a screening of the film at NIC’s annual conference. Lois Bowers, the editor at McKnight’s Senior Living, wrote about the event in Combating ageism through filmmaking and an Oscar campaign. “‘You can’t get to what might be awesome if you’re not honest about where you start from,’ Front Porch CEO Sean Kelly said as he moderated a panel discussion about ‘Familiar Touch,’ which was filmed at a Front Porch community with the assistance of residents and staff members.”

McKnight’s Senior Living also shared the news that Kari Olson has been promoted to Chief Transformation Officer and Davis Park has returned to Front Porch to take the role of Vice President of Transformation.

The care centers at Spring Lake Village and Webster House were named among America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 by Newsweek. Their annual list takes into consideration factors such as resident satisfaction, performance, peer recommendations and more.

Ten residents of Walnut Village were honored by Disneyland for their military service during a special flag retreat ceremony at Disneyland’s Town Square as the park celebrated its 70th anniversary this summer.
