Living in Color at Fredericka Manor with Resident Linda Wright

I think spring and summer are the most beautiful times of the year at Fredericka Manor Retirement Community. The community is alive with color, bird song and sweet fragrances. It’s my favorite time to work in my garden and at the resident community garden. The best part is when I see other gardeners by my side enjoying what we love. It’s just a great time to appreciate living here, the San Diego sunshine and the world around us.

About two years ago, I moved to a lovely cottage here with my mom. Living at Fredericka gives us the opportunity to be the best we can be. When I’m not gardening, I set aside at least an hour each day to do the needlework that I love. And all of the community’s life enrichment opportunities keep us as busy and entertained as we want to be. The exercise classes are the best and we look forward to our daily walks around campus.

My mom and I are happier and safer here at Fredericka than we would have been in our former home. It was large and required a lot of upkeep. Here, there are no chores or cooking. We do what we want, when we want. It doesn’t get any better than that!

When we decided to make the move, I wanted to live in a community where I could make friends and where new friends would be moving in all the time. I wanted a place where I could walk to a friend’s house and sit on the porch to chat, a place to join clubs and always have someone to eat dinner with. And most importantly, I wanted a little house on a cute street. I found all of this and more at Fredericka Manor.
